Karen Heath

Karen obtained her J.D. from the University of Ottawa and graduated cum laude in 2014. After law school, Karen completed her articles with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto as a Judicial Law Clerk and was called to the Bar in 2015. Karen also holds a B.A (Honours) in Political Science and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University and an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.

Prior to joining GlickLaw, Karen practiced predominantly criminal law. From that training and experience she brings a unique insight and skillset to her current practice. Clients can expect Karen to be a calm presence through highly stressful situations; to look at a problem from all angles to find the best outcome; and to respond thoughtfully and effectively to evolving complexities. She negotiates with ease and confidence and is an adept communicator. She is a consummate professional and highly personable. Karen has regularly and successfully appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as administrative tribunals and at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Karen is active in the community and is involved in causes close to her heart, including volunteer work with: the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights; the Ontario Justice Education network; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto; the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Prevention of Genocide and Other Crimes Against Humanity; and, the Canadian Centre for International Justice. She has also interned at Global Affairs Canada, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Court.

In her free time, Karen loves being with her family and friends, and tries to be outside as much as possible.
